AquaNano 40 Filtration System

The excellent trickle filtration system incorporated into the AquaNano series tanks is utilised to great effect in the AquaNano 40, with almost all filtration elements conveniently hidden from view, at the rear of the tank.

As ever, there's a 1c Carbon and Wool cartridge which has the dual role of purifying and clarifying the aquarium water, along with removal of finer particles of aquarium debris... a 117s Sponge Foam Cartridge which removes larger particles of waste ... and a 102c Ceramic Cartridge which provides a great home for millions of beneficial nitrifying bacteria.

The filter pump itself is very capable and should easily keep up with water flow requirements, but do check your filter pump impeller once a week to ensure it's not blocked or impeded with aquarium debris

AquaNano 40 - Filter Maintenance Schedule

◾ 1C Cartridge - Change every 4 to 6 weeks
◾ 102C Ceramic Cartridge - Change every 20 weeks
◾ 117S Sponge Pad - Rinse in aquarium water, replace every 12 months
◾ 26i impeller - Change every 12 months

Please note: In order to maintain the optimum biological balance in your AquaNano 40 aquarium it's best not to change every item at once... swap one item at a time, a few days apart to allow for bacterial re-colonisation.
