Aqua Nano 40 Filter Setup

Here's an excellent third party video that we found on YouTube showing the AquaNano 40 filter setup, with a few additional filtration items included. We really like the look that the aquarium keeper has gone for, as well as the added filtration elements. Enjoy!
 

AquaNano 40 - Filter Maintenance Schedule

◾ 1C Cartridge - Change every 4 to 6 weeks
◾ 102C Ceramic Cartridge - Change every 20 weeks
◾ 117S Sponge Pad - Rinse in aquarium water, replace every 12 months
◾ 26i impeller - Change every 12 months
◾ PL18 lighting - Change every 6 months
◾ New LED lighting - Replace as necessary

Please note: In order to maintain the optimum biological balance in your AquaNano 40 aquarium it's best not to change every item at once... swap one item at a time, a few days apart to allow for bacterial re-colonisation.

Maintaining the AquaNano 40 Trickle Filtration System

Weekly

Check that the water temperature is correct and that the filter pump is running well and that water is flowing through the filter media. Ensure the intake / strainer isn't blocked. Check that the 117S Sponge Foam Pad isn't clogged and rinse in a little aquarium water if necessary.

Monthly

Every month to six weeks replace the 1C Carbon Cartridge as the carbon becomes exhausted within this time frame. The Carbon and Wool cartridge cannot be rinsed and must be replaced. Check the filter pump and in particular that the impeller is moving freely and isn't blocked with aquarium debris. Check pipework. ** Every fourth month replace the 102C Ceramic Cartridge **

Yearly

It's good practice to replace the 26i filter pump impeller once a year. It's worked extremely hard, spinning hundreds of thousands of times and changing this small but essential part will help prolong the life of your Aqua One filter pump. If using PL-18 Lighting, replace this now as the light spectrum has diminished dramatically during this time.

AquaNano New Aquarium Range
